Overview

Reader is designed to work entirely on your device. We don't require an account, and we don't collect the books you read, the text you highlight, or the audio generated while you use the app.

What stays on your device

Your imported books and reading progress are stored locally. Narration uses Apple's on-device voice synthesis, built into iOS, so no text or audio is ever sent to a server. We don't use any analytics or tracking SDK in the app, and we don't sell your data, because we don't have any to sell.

Advertising

Reader shows optional, unobtrusive ads served by Google AdMob to keep the app free, with no subscription or purchase required. AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers to select and measure ads, in accordance with Google's own policies:

We don't control what Google's advertising systems collect beyond what's documented in those policies.

Analytics & crash reporting

We may use basic, anonymized crash and performance reporting to help us fix bugs. This never includes the contents of your library or any personally identifying information.
